Checklist in Hiring a Virtual Assistant

More and more businesses, entrepreneurs or even CEOs hire the services of Virtual Assistants (VA). Some to the extent of personal tasks. The demand is really increasing because of the internet, more particularly the social media. Many times we’ve read and heard clients say they feel they don’t exist if they are not in social media. So here’s a guide to get started in getting your first ever Virtual Assistant.

√ SET GOALS and EXPECTATIONS. Before you start your quest for a Virtual Assistant, be clear with yourself of what you expect from the VA. More importantly, set goals. This will greatly help you and the VA in completing your projects.

√ ASK for REFERRALS. The online job market is so huge but to avoid time on recruitment, you could first ask family, friends, colleagues, business owners or even your coach if they know a VA they love working with. This could help you save a great deal of time looking for one.

√ SET A MEETING. This part is very important. You need to know all about your VA. Here are sample questions you can ask them.

  • What are your skills?
  • What services do you offer?
  • What apps or tools do you use?
  • What is your rate?

√ SECURE A CONTRACT. There must be an Agreement before you let your VA do the work. Always include the Non-Disclosure for your peace of mind.

√ SET WORK MONITORING. There are many tools online for this but always save time even weekly to touch base over a phone or video call. Open communication lines and let your VA know that they can contact you.
